Understanding Your Activity Log
Updated 1 September 2026
The Activity Log records important events for the website selected in your workspace. It helps you see what happened, when it happened and whether it was started by you, the BugShield team or an automated process.
Open the Activity Log
- If you manage more than one website, choose the site from the workspace selector.
- Select Logs from the dashboard sidebar.
What the Activity Log records
- Fix request and account activity associated with the site.
- Access to credentials stored in the Password Vault.
- Plugin connections, monitoring checks and availability changes.
- Backup requests, completed backups, downloads and failures.
- Security, update, performance and maintenance events.
Search and filter events
Search for specific activity, then use the filters to narrow the results by type, source or user. You can also sort entries using the table headings. To show all activity again, select Clear all.
View the details of an event
Select an event to view its recorded time, who or what initiated it, its source and any additional details available for that event. The information shown varies because a backup, login and monitoring check record different details.
Activity Logs and notifications
The Activity Log is a record of events that have already happened. Notifications highlight updates that may be useful for you to read or respond to.
Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Activity Logs shared between my websites?
No. The Activity Log follows the selected site workspace, keeping each website's events separate.
Can I search the Activity Log?
Yes. You can search the timeline and filter it by event type, source or user.
Can I see when a Vault credential was accessed?
Yes. Access to a Vault credential creates an event in the Activity Log for that site.
Why do Activity Log entries show different details?
Each event records the information relevant to that action. For example, a backup event and a login event contain different details.
