Using BugShield

Accessibility

Last updated: 10th October 2026

We want more people to be able to read and use BugShield comfortably. Our public website includes optional accessibility settings so you can adjust its appearance to your preferences.

Adjust the website to suit you

Open Accessibility settings using the person-shaped button in the bottom-left corner. When the back-to-top arrow appears, the accessibility button moves beside it.

The panel provides text sizing up to 200%, line and letter spacing, black-and-white display, increased contrast, underlined or highlighted links, and reduced motion. Use Reset settings to return the controls to their defaults. Your browser’s own zoom and accessibility settings remain available.

Using the keyboard

Press Tab to reach Accessibility settings, then Enter or Space to open it. Within the panel, use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls and the arrow keys to choose options in a group. Escape closes the panel and returns focus to its button.

A Skip to main content link appears when reached with the keyboard. On a first visit, the panel also uses your device’s reduced-motion preference.

What we have tested

On 10th October 2026, we checked the panel in Chrome at viewport widths of 320, 390 and 1440 pixels. These checks covered keyboard controls, closing and reopening the panel, saved preferences, reset, reduced motion and text enlargement. We also checked the homepage and pricing page for horizontal overflow at the largest text setting.

These checks cover the public website’s settings panel and selected pages. They do not establish accessibility across the customer dashboard, every page, other browsers or third-party services. We have not completed a full WCAG conformance assessment or a site-wide screen-reader audit. The panel does not include a screen reader or read-aloud feature.

Saved preferences

Your choices are stored in this browser so they continue across pages and return visits. The panel does not send these preferences to BugShield or an external widget provider. If browser storage is blocked, you can still use the controls on the current page. Our Cookie Policy explains how to clear saved settings.

Tell us about a difficulty

If something prevents you from using the website, email [email protected] or use our contact page. Include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. You do not need to share medical information. We will review the problem and discuss how we can help.

Accessibility FAQs

Help with accessibility settings

Using the controls, saving your choices and getting support.

Which accessibility settings does BugShield offer?

Our public website provides text sizing up to 200%, line and letter spacing, black-and-white display, increased contrast, underlined or highlighted links, and reduced motion. Open the person-shaped button in the bottom-left corner. Our accessibility page explains the controls and testing scope.

Can I use the accessibility panel with a keyboard?

Yes. Tab to Accessibility settings and press Enter or Space. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls, and arrow keys to select options within a group. Press Escape to close the panel and return focus to its button.

Will BugShield remember my accessibility settings?

The panel saves preferences in your browser so they continue across pages and visits on that browser and device. Reset settings clears your saved choices. If browser storage is blocked, the controls still work on the current page. See our Cookie Policy for storage details.

Does the accessibility panel include a screen reader?

No. The panel provides display and motion controls, without a screen reader or read-aloud feature. It does not replace assistive technology such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS. We have not yet verified site-wide compatibility with those screen readers or completed a full WCAG conformance assessment.

How do I report an accessibility problem?

Email [email protected] or use our contact page. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you were using. You do not need to provide medical information.
