Restoring a Backup
A restore replaces the live WordPress database and site files with the selected BugShield restore point. Changes made after that backup can be overwritten, so choose the point carefully. Read Backups Overview if you need to review what each restore point contains.
Before restoring
- Confirm that you selected the correct site workspace and backup date.
- Record any orders, form entries, comments, content or uploads created after the backup.
- Pause publishing and other site changes while the restore runs.
- Confirm the BugShield plugin is connected and no backup or restore is already active.
- Resolve any past-due subscription payment that is blocking protected actions.
Start the restore
- Open Backups and find a completed restore point.
- Choose Restore for that backup.
- Read the confirmation, including the date, time and size.
- Select Restore database and files to begin the restore.
- Keep the dashboard open to see the restore progress until it is complete.
During and after the restore
The site is placed into maintenance mode while the restore is in progress. When it completes, test the home page, WordPress admin and the workflow that prompted recovery. Clear relevant caches if the restored result is not immediately visible.
If the restore fails
Do not repeatedly start new restores. Check the plugin connection and the displayed error, then contact subscriber support with the backup date and restore status.

Yes. Eligible completed backups show a Restore action when the plugin is connected and no conflicting operation or payment block exists.
