Confirm the backup before committing to a restore

We check the archive or snapshot date, included files and database, and whether it relates to the incident. A backup job marked successful is not proof that a complete recovery is possible.

Keep a copy of the current site before changes. On a store or membership site, agree which newer transactions and accounts need preserving.

Separate urgent recovery from continuing backup cover

For a broken site, request a one-off recovery quote. If no usable backup exists, diagnosis must establish what can be reconstructed; we cannot promise to restore missing data.

What if the backup is incomplete or fails to open?

We assess alternative copies and surviving records. Recovery depends on usable data; a broken archive does not guarantee that the missing information can be reconstructed.

Can you restore a single page or selected files?

A partial restore is possible when the backup and data relationships support it. We confirm the intended result and protect newer content before the change.

Will a restore remove malware?

A restored copy must be checked for compromise and the entry route must be addressed. A backup date alone does not prove that the copy is clean.

What happens to orders created after the backup?

An older backup does not contain newer orders. Preserve the current state and reconcile order, payment and stock records before replacing data.
