BugShield is live. Here is why we built a platform for WordPress owners who are tired of chasing freelancers every time something breaks. Today we are launching a WordPress care platform built around one simple idea: when your site breaks, you should be able to hand it to someone who fixes it properly, without a messy email thread or a surprise invoice.

Why we built it

Most WordPress owners do not want to become developers. They run shops, agencies, blogs, and client sites. But WordPress still breaks: plugins clash, updates go wrong, checkout pages stop working, and someone has to sort it out.

BugShield brings that work into one place. Request a fix, pay a clear fee, chat with your assigned developer, and track progress on a kanban board. No hunting for a freelancer on a forum at 11pm.

More than one-off fixes

One-off tasks are where many owners start, but maintenance is where sites stay healthy. Our Shield Light and Shield Pro plans add:

  • 24/7 uptime and performance monitoring
  • Off-site cloud backups with downloadable archives
  • Included bug fixes every month (2 on Light, unlimited on Pro)
  • A full activity log of backups, fixes, and vault access
  • Subscriber support that does not eat into your fix allowance

Shield Pro goes further with daily backups, on-demand backups, malware prevention, and priority response for sites where downtime costs real money.

Credentials done properly

Every fix needs access. BugShield includes an encrypted Password Vault tied to your site, not your login. Developers request credentials through the platform and every access is logged. You stay in control.

What is next

This is day one. We will keep shipping improvements to monitoring, backups, and the fix workflow based on what owners and developers tell us. If you run WordPress and want a calmer way to look after it, create your account and add your first site.

We are glad you are here.

Quick answers about BugShield

What is BugShield?

BugShield is a WordPress care platform for one-off fixes and ongoing maintenance. It brings developer conversations, site access, monitoring, backups and work history into one account.

Do I need a maintenance plan to ask BugShield for help?

No. You can create an account and submit a one-off fix without starting a subscription. Shield Light and Shield Pro are available when you want ongoing maintenance for a site.

What is the difference between Shield Light and Shield Pro?

Both plans include maintenance, monitoring, off-site backups, subscriber support and included fixes. Shield Pro adds daily and on-demand backups, unlimited fixes, malware prevention and priority response. See the current plan comparison for the full details.

How does BugShield handle my WordPress credentials?

Credentials are stored in an encrypted Password Vault and attached to the relevant site. Developers request access through BugShield, and each time a credential is viewed is recorded.

Can I manage more than one WordPress site?

Yes. One account can contain several WordPress sites. Each site has its own workspace, credentials, fix requests, monitoring information and backup history.
